Russian Academic: Alexander the Great Established Hellenistic Epoch in the East (Video)

The widely-popular YouTube academic channel for lectures, debates and interviews from and by high-ranking scholars, PostNauka – which publishes content of all scientific areas – from molecular biology, to astrophysics and history, published recently (12 May 2017) a lecture by RAN (Russian Academy of Sciences) scholar,

Sergei Georgievič Karpyuk (CV: http://ift.tt/2s9nV3f.html?id=84762).

The lecture details Alexander the Great's conquest of the East. In the integral video, Karpyuk argues that initial idea of Alexander was to destroy the archenemy of Hellas – the Persian Empire, but that his ambition for future conquests grew stronger after the accomplished goal.

In this set of excerpts, Greek worldview towards geography of the planet is highlighted as well as the (very well known in entire world, with FYROM as an exception) conclusion about the cultural identity formed in the space of Alexander's Empire that lasted many centuries after him.
